H. R. Haldeman Quotes

Reg meetings – dirty tricks dept.
use of power of WH more ruthlessly
in deadly battle – use all weapons.

Context
This quotation not only shows the degree of Nixon Paranoia. The "deadly battle" was what he believed was being waged by the Nixon Enemies, but it shows that the Nixon staff referred to some staff as the "dirty tricks department". Nixon had resorted to dirty tricks from his earliest days in politics and never stopped. As this quotation shows, he even institutionalized the unethical and often illegal practice. Incredibly, Nixon also wanted ruthlessness in interacting with Americans–opponents and saw the struggle with his political opponents as a "deadly battle".
