Teresa of Avila Quotes

Never compare one person with another.

Context
Managers and leaders always make comparisons in order to hire and promote staff and the like. What St, Teresa warns against is making comparisons when communicating with individuals or publicly as people tend to react badly to open comparisons where they do not come out as the best. These Maxims would be useful for any political campaign staff or government agency.

Saint Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus, baptized as Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, was a prominent Spanish mystic, Roman Catholic saint, Carmelite nun, author, and theologian of contemplative life through mental prayer. Active during the Counter-Reformation, she was a reformer in the Carmelite Order of her time; the movement she initiated, later joined by Saint John of the Cross, eventually led to the establishment of the Discalced Carmelites, though neither she nor John were alive when the two orders separated.
