Jorge Mario Bergoglio. This statement shocked many of those in and outside the Catholic Church who believe that one of the duties of the clergy is to judge and by their judgments guide the people in the way of God. The Pope did not change any of the Catholic theology that says that homosexual acts are sinful. He was saying that in the model of Christ he accepts and ministers to the sinner.
