Joshua Aaron Mandel is an American Republican politician who served as the State Treasurer of Ohio from 2011 to 2019. Mandel is a former city councilman and member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He was the unsuccessful Republican challenger to incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown in the 2012 U.S. Senate election. In 2016, he announced his intention to again challenge Brown in 2018; he withdrew on January 5, 2018, citing family health reasons.
