Andrés Rebolledo Ignacio Smitmans (17 April 1968) is a Chilean Economist and politician & menber of the Socialist Party. He is currently Minister of energy of Chile. Biography He studied at the National Institute and the Faculty of Economics and business of the University of Chile. He has a postgraduate degree in international economics and economic development at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. In the 1990's he joined the Directorate-General for international economic relations (Direcon), where he served as Manager of Mexico, Central America and ALADI area and subsequently as head of the Latin America Department and integration; between 2005 and 2008 was director of bilateral economic affairs of Direcon. Rebolledo in his oath as Minister of energy in 2016. In 2009, the President appointed Michelle Bachelet Ambassador of Chile in Uruguay and representative of the country to the ALADI. Between 2010 and 2014 was a consultant in the area of integration and trade in the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Washington (United States).2 In March 2014, he was appointed by the Chancellor Heraldo Muñoz as director general of Direcon of Bachelet's second Government.3 As energy Minister, replacing Max Pachecotook in October 2016
